Support

Volunteers

The Woodson African American History Museum welcomes involvement from residents in both the immediate community and the Tampa Bay area. There are many areas where contributions are possible.

The Museum needs volunteers to assist in all areas of operations. This includes guides and interpreters, membership drives, museum operations, community outreach, public relations, fundraising, and many other opportunities.

Volunteers are sought from all areas, including alumni associations, the artistic community, churches, fraternal organizations, the legal profession, the media, small business, social and civic clubs, community based organizations, schools and other educational enterprise.

Student participation

Students may be able to use their volunteering toward class credit, scholarships and other academic opportunities. They could assist in archival research, assist museum committees with their activities—PR, design, etc., serve as greeters, and many other ways.

Collections Management

A special need is for 1 or 2 dedicated individuals willing to learn the collections management software and begin the process of documenting our growing collection. Call the director for more information.
